Dear Jerry:

This summer Sun City Awning installed three patio blinds for us and we were very satisfied  with the workmanship and the efficiency of the blinds. I had wanted to install blinds for a few years because our patio faces west and the afternoon sun can be torture in the summer; but my husband objected because he thought they were ugly and we were never home during the summer. This summer we were not able to travel because my husband experienced an acute neurological condition and i convinced him that we needed the patio blinds. More than once during the Summer, he remarked that it was a good idea to have blinds installed. I don't think he thinks these are ugly.

Late summer I noticed that one of the blinds made " noise" when cranking it up and I called your office and a worker showed up within a few days and added oil to the roller and things have been fine since then. He reminded me that anytime I suspected something be wrong, just give them a call.

Dear Brian;

Enclosed is a before and after picture of a patio cover your company installed at our home on September 19, 2007.  As you can readily discern, the patio cover is a beautiful addition to our home and has made a substantial improvement to the look and ambience of our back yard.  It blends in very well and looks like it was designed with the house.  We are very pleased with this addition to our house.

We were even more pleased with the service we received from your installers.  The installers were Eugene and Jim, whose last names I do not know but I’m sure you could readily access this information in your records.  I would greatly appreciate it if you would communicate to these gentlemen how pleased we were with their work.  They were very professional, courteous and industrious workers.  Due to a problem with an incorrect, critical part supplied with the materials for this project, it was necessary for them to spend considerable time obtaining a replacement part.  Yet, they stayed until they finished the job even though it required fifteen hours here plus their travel time.  They took the problem in stride, didn’t complain, and completed the task.  Even more admirable, they maintained their high standards of quality and did not cut corners to get done earlier.  I’m sure they were very tired by the end of the day but it certainly did not show in their attitude or quality of work.  I speak from personal observation since I hung over their shoulders all day long.  I’m now retired but in my working career I supervised a number of construction/remolded projects.  So please thank them for me.

In addition, it was a pleasure dealing with others at your company.  Our salesman, Ken, was very good to work with; the telephone receptionists we dealt with when calling the company were very pleasant and we even received a nice thank you note from the bookkeeping department when we paid our deposit.  What a great group of people you have working there.  Thanks to all.  It was a pleasure doing business with you.  No, this is not a paid political announcement -  but it sure is a satisfied customer!

            After the initial contract was entered into, my contact with your company was primarily with Tina. The dates that we agreed upon were adhered to and your personnel arrived promptly to do the installations.

            I had concerns about the installation of the awning itself, and the necessity of obtaining electrical power to same. As a former business owner I know how important it is to know what customers think of your company, and equally, if not more, its employees, I sold my business in 1989 and had 21 employees at the time. Bruce is among the best workers I have encountered since moving to Arizona in 1997. He was prompt and always courteous and diligent. His assignment was especially frustrating as there was no easy solution to the proper installation of an outside drain pipe. His patience in trying several different alternatives was exceptional. Additionally, Bruce went beyond his job duties by willingly performing a couple of additional tasks and returning to repaint an outside ledge that we agreed had been overlooked.

I think that Bruce deserves a special “pat on the back” from management.

It is not often that I can write a letter of commendation to a company and its people.  In this day and age of everyone trying to make a buck and let the customer beware.  This has not been the case with your company or its people.

First, I would like to thank your salesman, Mike Blackburn, for his professional approach, in selling the product, also for the fact that he worked with me on our scheduling problem, as we could not get the house painted on time.  Mike also came on site the first day to introduce our installer Bob.

And last but not least, my thanks for the professional work ethics of Bob.  Bob did a very commendable job of installing a beautiful product in a timely manner...Bobs effort speaks volumes for Sun City Awning.  As you know, Bob became a grandfather during our installation, and once again Bob kept us informed by calling and letting us know that he would be absent one day.  Congratulations "Grandpa Bob" and thanks again for your professional attitude and work ethic.

I am very pleased with the lattice patio cover your company put up.  It looks terrific and the workmanship is excellent!!  I only wish I had known about Sun City Awning & Patio before I contracted with another company to build the screened-in porch.  I am not pleased with their workmanship or the length of time its taking them to complete the job.  It's still not done!  I will highly recommend Sun City Awning & Patio.

You need to stop by to look at the cover.  It really adds to the look of the house.  The cover has transformed the look beautifully.  It's exactly what I was looking for.

My wife Lois and I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how pleased we are with the aluminum lattice patio awning and sunscreens you recently installed on our home here in Sun City West.

You designed the patio awning to complement the patio area we recently expanded.  It is a real aesthetic asset to the house and provides cooling shade for the sunny west exposure of the back of the house.  The construction was very high quality and incorporated into the knee wall around our patio.

The 90% shade sunscreens were even better than our expectations.  We were concerned about losing the view of our back yard from the dining table.  It was not a problem, as the visibility through the sunscreens is great and the shading is excellent.  Putting your hand on them when the sun is shining directly through gives only a warm sensation.  Previously, without the sunscreens, the windows were very hot to the touch.

We recently had an extended patio cover attached to our home in Sun City West.  I was compelled to write you this letter, because of the fine workmanship and expertise of the men constructing it.  Mel and Juke are a credit to your company.  It is seldom we see rulers and levels used by workmen here is Sun City West.  Being a new homeowner here has been a real experience.  With new homes, there are always a number of improvements you wish to make, and being new to this state, not knowing anyone who might have had work done for recommendations, is very difficult.  I always feel I am taking a chance.   So it was with Sun City Awning & Patio, Inc., but to our pleasure and surprise, we had nothing to worry about.

I am very pleased with the results and enjoy the additional shade the patio gives us.  It surely helps to keep the sun off the back of the house, making it much cooler inside as well as outside.  Thank you again, and be sure to hire more people like Mel and Juke.

This is in response to your letter of March 31, 1997.  We appreciate your query to see if we are satisfied with the awnings constructed by SCA.

We were pleased that you answered our initial request for a bid on the project so promptly.  You listened to what we had in mind, took the photographs of the former awning which was a victim in the August 1996 storm, and provided a bid within a reasonable time.

Your workmen arrived precisely at 8:00 a.m. and worked steadily throughout each day of the project.  They were willing to discuss what they were doing and to ask if we approved several minor changes.  They tidied the work area at the end of each day and moved their equipment off the lawn.  They diligently cleaned up after themselves, leaving not a single scrap or cigarette butt.  They were friendly, courteous, and considerate to us and to one another.  Watching their interactions gave us confidence in their skills.

The repaired awning and the new, larger awning seem sturdy and well built.  The strong winds we experienced this week had no effect on either structure; therefore, the job seems to be of quality.

We appreciate doing business with you and shall recommend you to our friends.

We would be delighted for you to photograph the awnings.  Please let us know when you are coming.
